Tribute to Director Rituporno Ghosh by designer Joy Mitra

Ace designer Joy Mitra showcased his dedicated Summer/ Spring 2014 collection on day five of wills Life style India Fashion Week at Pragati maidan New Delhi. Joy has paid his tribute to ace film director Rituporno Ghosh.
Joy Mitra’s Summer /Spring 2014 collection dedicated to director Rituporno Ghosh. Bollywood noted actress Raima Sen dazzled the ramp as a show stopper for Joy Mitra . Raima Sen walked on the ramp in mixed colour lenha choli and duptta .
I have worked with Raima and she has one of the charecter in Chokher Bali therefore i selected her to walk for me ” ,said Joy to the reporters after the show.
“What could have been a better way to pay tribute the late director. Since I had worked with him, so I know what sort of design he used to like in his films,” said designer Joy Mitra.

Joy Mitra has worked with Rituporno Ghosh on few film as a costume director. ” I learnt the fine nuances of cinema and it opened my horizon to a fresh language of style. Interacting with him on many occasions, I would travel to a new world of literature,poetry,art and music.I consider myself immensely lucky to have got the opportunity to enrich myself .
Ritudas as we fondly called him made me realise that simplicity and grandeur could co exist”, said Joy.
Collection comprises as free flowing anarkalis and tunics with ornate embroidery of zardozi and small white pearl bead. Dhoti bottoms, crop tops,jacket tops and draped anarkali are the other key silhouettes.
Joy used fabrics like cotton,silk,georgette and chiffon for his collection and colours are cream, black and gold .
