Sabyasachi Mukherjee showcased his latest collection called ‘New Moon’ on the final day of the PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2012. The show was set with the obvious vintage look which portrays his persona. Russian needlepoint, boutis from Provence,Zardozifrom Agra, Kantha from Bangladesh, block printing from Kashmir, Chintz from the United Kingdom and Toile de jpoy from France, co-exist with rhinestone, babubles, bows and the finest quality of needle craft to create a collectionthat is exuberant yet disciplined. Speaking with media Sabyasachi said about his collection, “It is actually about retro glamour and collection takes inspiration from 30’s-40 and my inspiration derive from the cities that I travelled. It was the tale of 5 cities like Barcelona, London, Paris and Kolkata also. So collection is inspired by my travelling experiences. Fabrics used in this collection are velvet, net, khadi, brocade and others mostly Indian.

Sabyyasachi on his part said,” For me and my sister is a special day because we are still the biggest fan of Sridevi. We have lied to our father, bunked school to watch her film. We had watched all of her films.”
Answering to the Question Sabyasachi said, “Well that collection is modernise and this is not an ethnic collection it’s a very global collection that’s why I call it New Moon it’s kind of new development from the brand.
Gauri, the director of Sridevi upcoming movie also graced the show with Sri Devi and the Designer.
