Goa-based ace designer Wendell Augustine Rodricks, popularly known as Wendell Rodrick has got Country prestigious honour The Padama Shree Award this year for his outstanding contribution to fashion design. Last year government of India conferred this award to ace fashion designer Ritu Kumar. To celebrate this milestone India’s first collaborative fashion e-commerce website Stylista.com hosted an exclusive party in honour of Wendell at Two One Two Bar & Grill on March 5th, 2014 Mumbai.


A veteran of over 20 years, Rodricks has not only revolutionized the Indian fashion landscape with his minimalist resort wear but also taken it to foreign shores. Hailed as the master of minimalism in India, he is renowned for his Zen simplicity, impeccably cut fabrics and beautifully stark silhouettes. Inspired by his Goan heritage, his designs have found many enthusiasts over the years, including the likes of Sonia Gandhi, Angelina Jolie, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Meg Ryan.
Wendell Rodricks is among the six launch designers for Stylista.com, which includes other prominent names like Priyadarshini Rao, Nishka Lulla, Yogesh Chaudhary, Tanya Sharma and Rinku Dalamal. His exclusive collection for Stylista is an amalgamation of his bestselling silhouettes in his signature free-flowing aesthetic. An ethereal mix of separates and statement pieces, the collection transcends from day to night with effortless ease, and is available exclusively online.

Some of the prominent names were included Malaika Arora Khan, Zaheer Khan, Ajit Agarkar, Evelyn Sharma, Amrita Puri, Shahab Durazi, Farah Khan Ali and Aqeel Ali, Zayed Khan, Arunoday Singh, Mini Mathur, Maria Goretti, Maureen Wadia, AD Singh, Vicky Ratnani, Neeta Lulla, Pria Kataria Puri, Anil Chopra. The top model brigade turned up in full support with names like Nethra Raghraman, Candice Pinto, Pia Trivedi, Dipti Gujral, Carol Gracias.
