It was an electrifying musical night at newly Harem Meeza , a Percussionist and Indi-fusion music enthralled the crowd. Guest were seen enjoying over drink, food and the musical Jugalbandi.Back with a bang in its new restaurant-lounge avatar, Harem Meeza(earlier Harem) electrifying the weekend on Friday night with the launched of Marrakesh Nights. Reignited the spirit and sounds of Marrakesh Nights which are all about great music, unique artists each Friday, specials that vary each week and a cuisine and beverage preference that traces the Indo-Middle Eastern Path.
Marrakesh Nights at Harem Meeza on Friday saw the performance of talented Live percussionist group The Delhi Drummers collaborating with DJ Gunjan Sharma spinning ‘Sufiana’ music with a Retro twist. Joy, Dinero and Sanjay drummed up a storm on the djembe, darbuka, dhol, congo, bongo, shakers and many other musical instruments while matching their beats to DJ Gunjan Sharma’s Sufi tracks and retro spinning to create a musical fusion frenzy at the Marrakesh Night. Along with the live musical treat which had people swaying to the music and enjoying the live performance, there was Flair bartending by the Harem Meeza bartenders which added to the allure and energy of the Marrakesh Night.
The night was well attended and saw some well-known faces from Delhi’s hospitality, music, corporate and social circles digging in to succulent sheesh tawouk, haloumisambouseks, pathar ke kebabs and more at Harem Meeza. Guests for the evening included musical duo Hari and Sukhmani; Suhail Yusuf Khan from the popular music group Advaita, Akshay Raheja from the music band Faridkot, Multi-genre band Mir, Restaurateurs and Consultants Sonia and Manu Mohindra; Socialite and Designer Sanjana Jon, Restaurateur Ankur Sachdeva (owner Bonsai, Corus Hotel and co-owner Harem Meeza), socialite Pooja Gogia and a host of other music fans from Delhi’s social and expat circle along with the owners of Harem Meeza- Sachin Gogia, Sammir S Gogia, Sanjeev Jain, Sameer Goel (along with fifth owner, Ankur Sachdeva).
Sukhmani Malik, Music duo of Hari and Sukhmani said: “Harem Meeza has a beautiful space and ambience and the vibe is very positive and energetic. This place is the perfect setting for artists’ performances and tonight’s live performance, and we are looking forward to creating a musical storm at this venue soon. The food sounds great and I enjoyed digging into the Indian Chaat Platter alongside the Middle Eastern kebabs and Tajine.”
Sanjana Jon, Socialite and Designer said: “This is lovely concept of bringing alive the beautiful elements of the Middle East in our very own Delhi. I love the idea of enjoying an evening out amongst the lush green open space here and the indoors air conditioned lounge and restaurant. Harem Meeza has a lot of potential and wish it all the luck”
