Khushboo Kamal

Fashiongaze: Can you describe your journey in the industry so far?

Khushboo Kamal: It’s been a rewarding and lengthy journey. I embarked on my acting career around 2010 or 2011, starting with the daily soap “Priya Ka Ghar Pyara Lage,” featuring Sanjeeda Sheikh and Giriraj Kabra. I played a parallel lead role. From there, I moved on to shows like “F.I.R.” and “Bhabhi Ji Ghar Per Hain,” and eventually to films such as “Ankur Arora Murder Case,” “Missing on a Weekend,” “Satyameva Jayate 2,” and the recently released “Kadak Singh.” It’s been a fulfilling, albeit challenging, journey.

Fashiongaze: How has the transition from television to OTT platforms been for you?

Khushboo Kamal

: My experience with television has been extensive, and venturing into OTT platforms has been quite positive. I’ve done a show called “Constable Girpade” on Amazon Mini TV. The audience’s response and the experience of promoting the show were fantastic. OTT platforms offer another avenue for actors to showcase their talent and seek more work. I’ve also been part of projects like the short film “Zoya” on Disney Plus Hotstar and “Kasturi” on Jio Cinema.

Fashiongaze: Could you share some memorable moments from the set of “Kadak Singh”?

Khushboo Kamal: In “Kadak Singh,” I portrayed the wife of Pankaj Tripathi’s character in a flashback sequence. Although my shooting schedule was brief, spanning three to four days, it was a remarkable experience. Working alongside Pankaj Tripathi, who is not only an incredibly cooperative actor but also a wonderful human being, was delightful. Collaborating with Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, a national award-winning director, was equally enriching.

Fashiongaze: What are your expectations for “Kadak Singh”?

Khushboo Kamal: My hope for “Kadak Singh” was that it would be well-received, as the success of a film benefits all actors involved and brings appreciation for their work. Thankfully, the film performed exceptionally well on Zee5, garnering widespread acceptance from both audiences and critics.

Fashiongaze: Do you visit your hometown, Kanpur, often? What memories do you have of the town?

Khushboo Kamal

: Absolutely, I visit Kanpur whenever I can, as my entire family resides there. My childhood was spent there, filled with memories of school, preparing for engineering exams, and time spent with friends and relatives. I make it a point to visit my aunts and uncles during my trips, reliving the festive celebrations and cherished moments from my youth.

Fashiongaze: What challenges did you face when you first moved to Mumbai?

Khushboo Kamal

: As a newcomer in Mumbai, the initial phase was tough. Transitioning from a small town like Kanpur to a vast city like Mumbai was daunting. Navigating auditions and unfamiliar places was challenging. However, after my stint in “Piya Ka Ghar Pyara Lage,” where I completed nearly 400 episodes, life became more comfortable, and I haven’t looked back since. Success brings its own set of challenges, but that’s the nature of life.

Fashiongaze: Can you tell us about your upcoming projects?

Khushboo Kamal: I’m excited about shooting a music video featuring two songs, scheduled for the end of May or early June. Additionally, I’m collaborating with a cosmetic brand, though I can’t disclose the name yet due to pending formalities. I’m also auditioning and networking for web series and film opportunities, hopeful for what the future holds.

Fashiongaze: How do you feel about your spiritual beliefs and practices?

Khushboo Kamal: My faith is a cornerstone of my life. The blessings of Ganpati Bappa and my mother’s prayers have been my guiding force, allowing me to continue working and pursuing projects. I’m grateful for their support, which has kept me moving forward.

Fashiongaze: Will you be voting in the upcoming General Elections?

Khushboo Kamal: Regrettably, I won’t be able to vote this time as I’m not traveling to my hometown, and my voter registration is in Kanpur. It’s disheartening because voting is a fundamental right that I value deeply.

Fashiongaze: What message would you like to share with voters?

Khushboo Kamal: Your vote is precious. Exercise it thoughtfully, as the elected representatives will shape our nation’s future for the next five years. It’s crucial to choose wisely and ensure you cast your vote, as every single one counts towards empowering our country and securing our future.
