JJ Valaya showcased BARODA latest couture collection at FDCI Hyundai India Couture Week In association with Reliance Brands on Day 4

The House of Valaya commends the Couture season 2023-24 with its all-new assortment, BARODA. A medley of exquisite craftsmanship and sophisticated style declarations that is told through its three distinctive interpretations (chapters). In the principal section (Workmanship Deco), the assortment navigates a combination in view of the art of Lipan yet deciphered in a variety of craftsmanship deco lines and Mughal trim themes; It then moves on to the second chapter, “Nomade,” where mirror work and Kutch motifs reign, albeit in a more contemporary form; it at long last moves to a third and last part (Royale) where the well-established Mashru texture of Gujarat finds its perfect partner in designs motivated by Portuguese Azulejos tiles.

“This season, I decided to investigate Gujarat’s past, uncovering a fascinating and motivating past. However, Gujarat, as the vast majority of India, has a set of experiences tracing all the way back to the stone age, I found it entrancing that between the sixteenth and nineteenth 100 years, it was essential for the Mughal Realm, the Maratha Domain and afterward was exposed to provincial rule with the Portuguese and English settling previously, obviously India acquired its freedom. The multiculturalism that has resulted from a journey that was so diverse has left exquisite footprints in the land’s DNA, and the collection I created for Fall/Winter 23-24, called BARODA, is inspired by this.” Said, JJ Valaya.
