Delhi’s leading Women Entrepreneurs came all dressed up to attend the Action Learning Process Workshop organised by World Institute for Action Learning (WIAL), an international non-profit organisation dedicated to the growth and advancement of Action Learning in business, government and not-for-profit organisations, in Hotel Crowne Plaza Today New Delhi Okhla.
Well known worldwide, the Action learning Process is a powerful problem-solving tool that has the amazing capacity to simultaneously build successful leaders, teams and organisations. It involves a small group working on real problems, taking action, and deliberately learning as they go. It helps organisations develop creative, flexible and successful strategies to pressing problems. It positions inquiry and questions at the heart of organisation culture, said Prof Mike Marquardt President of the World Institute for Action Learning (WIAL)
The WIAL Action Learning process is being embraced as the method of choice for many global organisations to dramatically improve performance and develop capability. These include Microsoft, NASA, BOEING, GE, Singapore Airlines, Toyota, Samsung, Nokia, Siemens, said Ron McLuckie, Chief Executive, Leadership Focus India.
As reported by Business Week, “Action Learning has become the problem solving tool of the 21st Century”. During the workshop, Prof Mike talked about the challenges facing women in Business in India and also the common challenges to women worldwide as well some unique challenges for women in certain sectors. Family pressure, sexual harassment, and financial slab are the three basic issues women in business face today all over the World. And he further went on to explain how using the “Power of Action Learning”, one can actually solve the various issues. Action Learning is basically a group of individuals pondering over the issue and together achieve the best possible solution. It is like learning while in action.
