Day 4: Shazahn Padamsee walked as tribal queen for Paras & Shalini @ WIFW AW 13

Designer Duo Paras and Shalini have showcased their latest collection titled “Tribal Queen on the fourth day of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Show Autumn / Winter 13. Bollywood beauty queen Shazahn Padamsee today turned tribal queen for designer duo and walked on the ramp.
Dresses in a black sequined knee length dress, the 25-year-old actress, who is mostly seen in soft coloured clothes, said she was happy to experiment with her her black and bold look this time.
Padamsee said, “People always see me in cute and soft dresses most of the times. But this time around I have experimented with my look and I felt great in it.I love the way these two have given a very contemporary twist to the tribal designs,” She has features on the big screen in ‘Housefull 2’ last year.

Paras and Shalini took inspiration from tribals and aboriginal signs from all over the world- US, South Africa and Australia. The designs provided a perfect paradox between romance and practical celebrations of the aboriginal cultures.
Shalini said,”The inspiration stems from the impact of communication and a need to go back to the start; ab-origin. The designs are very contemporary and wearable. The wardrobe is formal, delicate and romantic. It explores folklore and multi ethnic world in a modern and socially relevant way”.
The fabrics used were tulle, leatherite, chantille, velvet and wool. The tribal look was further accentuated by braided hair with tassles.

The colour paletted varied from surreal blue and black and faded in grey, silver and purple. Calssix colours worked with romantic silhouettes. Models sashayed down the ramp in long sweeping gowns with geometric patterns and simple shapes. The designers played with sheer and opaque, jackets with needle work borders, cape like tops, wraparound gowns, ruffled and pleated abstract forms, layered and tiered hems.
