Designer Shruti Sancheti has showcased her latest Autumn Winter collection on last day of ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion show at Pragati Maidan New Delhi. Designer Shruti’s show was inspired from colonial era’s British women lifestyle and their culture in India during that time.
Collection rome around these British women who adapted and amalgamated two parallel yet contradictory cultures and produced a unique and novel fashion statement. Shruti played with colour like oxblood, navy blue, deep purple, crimson, burgundy, teal, burnt orange etc. to give imperial looks to her collection .She has also used English floral prints. Fabrics were used like pure, woven silk along with smattering of velvet, raw silk etc. Intricate hand embroidery in motifs of blooms in thread work, cut work have been used for surface ornamentation and the silhouettes are heavily inspired by the elaborateness and conservativeness of the period , however they have a contemporary twist.
