Specially blessed proved their talent with fashion and art

Specially blessed children proved their talent and in the field of art and fashion, they showed that limitation cannot bind them. Talent and creativity can be tapped in the most unexpected places and Freesia, a Delhi based charity organization that promotes creative sectors embarked just to do that. In their trail blazing initiative titled “Art and Fashion 4 for a cause” children and young adults with special needs joined their creative forces and abilities with country’s top designers and took their creativity to the runway.

An initiative that has been conceived and designed to break myths and misconceptions that children and young adults with special needs belong to a confined zone of their own. With enough sympathies received and innumerable heartstrings tugged these specially blessed children and young adults now strive to be inclusive in all things mainstream and find a place for themselves along with all the others.

Roma Sahni, Founder Director, Freesia said, “I believe that Art can educate the challenged in ways to give them better opportunities of livelihood and it is about time to unlock their talents and help them find a place in arrangements apart from their comfort zones. This is not to sensitize people of their existence but to make people realize that they can fit into any kind of profession if given a chance and avenue.”
She further added “we are looking forward to retailing the cloths and will tie up with many industries to buy our children paintings”.

Celebrated fashion designers Malini Ramani, Varun Varun Bahl, Shantanu & Nikhil, Ashima & Leena and also Freesia’s very own line Freesia Junior has join this initiative.

“I feel so blessed to be able to work in association with these special children. They are bursting with enthusiasm and creativity and everyone needs to give them a chance. That is all they need” said fashion designer Leena.

Acrylic on Canvas painting- a medium of art that has never been done by any other organization apart from Freesia and eye-catching photography were displayed at the art and photography exhibition that was impeccably put up which was inaugu Subi Samuel, an art enthusiast from Mumbai has inaugurated the function. Bringing in the moves to the event was a dance performance choreographed by renowned choreographer Gilles Chuyen. One can also look forward to their upcoming project of creating hand painted furnitures.

Guest were seen to cheering the children including Malini Ramani & Leena Singh, industrialist Vikrum Baidyanath, Sanjay & Sheena Sharma, ace bollywood photographer Subi Samuel, padamshree dance artist Sharon Lowen, renowned artist Sanjay Bhattacharya, Sudhir Bhagat, Lise Svane (Wife of Ambassador of Denmark), ace choreographer Gilles Chuyenand many more.
