Surreal mode

Rahul Mishra revisited the roots with a childlike approach for Spring Summer 2012. By using white bases and soft shades, he pulled out the natural elements and placed them majestically over his very own signature surfaces. The designer, known for his subtle chemistry with purest white bases, outdid himself once again. It was a level above his previous presentations. The motifs were leafy and floral. There was an artistic twist to the motifs. The horizontal rainbow like bands on the shoulder yokes and panels made a loud appeal. The hems had colour gradation border. The diamond motifs in pastels shades over white surfaces, and then white diamond like motifs over black and orange surfaces were superbly juxtaposed.  The blues gave out a soft appeal. Pintucks gave out an independent characteristic to the collection.  The shapes looked really formal and structured.  Pleated hot pants with multiple stripes looked experimental. The embroideries were tone in tone. Palette moved methodically from white to off-white, pink, green to oranges. The transparent lower bodies and diagonal construction techniques with sleeker plackets and potli buttons was a remarkable feature. Rahul’s tribute this season went to transparent surfaces.
